The Road Back To You
- Ian Cron and Suzanne Stable
This is the first book I read about the Enneagram. It is the first book I send people to in order to learn for themselves and to dive into the Enneagram. It is a quick and easy read. The authors set it up so that you really only need to read the first and last chapter along with the chapter on your Type. They make finding your Type easy because the first page of each chapter is a list of characteristics that either speak to you or don’t.
Once you discover your Type, you will find this specific information on each one:
Healthy, average and unhealthy behaviors
The deadly sin of that Type
How that Type behaved as children
How they are in relationships and work
Wings
Stress and security
Spiritual Transformation
Ten paths to transformation
Although the Enneagram has been around in some form or fashion for centuries, it really only began to be used as a tool for growth in the USA in the ’70s. And then, even in very small circles. I believe this book has helped the Enneagram become more mainstream and more accessible to regular folks because it is so easy to read.
Even one of the authors, Ian Cron, calls it a primer for the Enneagram. He says: read it but don’t stop there. Go on a journey to discover who you were created to be before the world told you who you were supposed to be. It’s a great first step on your path toward transformation! Let me know how you like it.
